"It was a great day in July 2005 when Pepper met for the first time and rang a few chords. LouAnn hosted the day at her home in Cheney, Washington. Carran drove from Spokane, Washington, Debbie came from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Elizabeth drove over for the weekend from Helena, Montana. We knew right away that we wanted to form a quartet, and so began Pepper's journey. In May of 2007, Elizabeth decided it was time for her to finish her degree and so we began our search for a new baritone. Cheryl joined us in July from our very own chorus."
LouAnn, tenor, has medaled in several quartets and is proudly a 'barbershop brat'. Growing up with music has honed her skills in many areas, serving as visual team coordinator, choreographer, and (currently) assistant director of the award-winning Spirit of Spokane Chorus of Sweet Adelines International. She has earned multiple regional first place chorus medals and competed with numerous quartets.
Debbie, lead, is the newest barbershopper amongst us, but brings many years of singing and performing experience to the quartet. She has the loving support of John, her husband of 28 years, and their two children. Debbie is a member of the Spirit of Spokane Chorus and serves as a section leader on the music team. This is her first quartet, and she feels especially blessed to be singing with these three women.
Cheryl, baritone, is the newest addition to Pepper. She says she is a 'born baritone', spending most of her life singing harmony and thinking it was the melody. As a member of Sweet Adelines since 1998, Cheryl sings baritone with the Spirit of Spokane Chorus. In her leftover time, she is a wife, mother, grandma, and gardener.
Carran, bass, learned to love singing at a very young age. Her mom taught her and her sisters to sing a cappella harmony while on long car trips. She has been singing with the Sweet Adelines for 15 years, and is also a member of & current Team Coordinator for the Spirit of Spokane Chorus. She has also medaled in other quartets and earned multiple regional first place chorus medals.
Pepper has placed in the top five at both Region 13 Sweet Adeline competitions in Spokane, Washington, since the quartets formation in July 2005.
